Outfit Ideas for Date Nights in Autumn

This article idea was born out of the fact that I have, over time, collected so many great items while thrifting. And like a lot of us, I don't get to wear half of them because I'm not a socialite, going to events and parties every week. So this was an oppurtunity to pre-meditate date outfits in cooler weather should that day come. (Don't get the wrong idea - I don't sit around wishing some guy would just ask me on a date. However, I do daydream about great outfit combinations!)

  1. 'Grayscale'

I am proud to say this entire outfit was thrifted. I would estimate the entire head to toe costed about $22. I love the pointed heels sticking out from under the flare of the pants legs. Its easy to pull together the colors that match with everything - white, black, and grey are all easily coordinated with other colors.

As you can probably tell by the confidence in my expression, this outfit makes me feel ladylike and sultry!

2. 'Alt Girl'

Spandex and spandex mini dresses are a huge fad right now. FashionNova and Shein are dominating the cheap, but cute, printed figure flattering dresses. Mine is neither brand and while most people wear these by themselves, for me I would feel like I'm going out with almost just lingerie on. Coupling the dress with leather leggings is sexy but not over the top, especially with the peek-a-boo in the back! Clothing is obviously a form of expression, the distictiveness of the pattern of the dress makes me feel unique. If I were to go out I would stand out from the solid color and more basic outfits around me.

Dress: H&M

Boots: Nine West

3. 'Alt Girl II'

This one is a variation of the last. Funky pattern mini dress + leather leggings + leather boots = sexy alternative-girl look. The wool coat accentuates the outfit and is functional for colder months.

Coat: Merona

4. 'Legs and Curves'

I saved my personal favorite for last. I remember the day I bought this dress - I was thrifting aimlessly, as in there was nothing I needed. I was just shopping for fun. When I do that, I justify the unnecessary spending by at least purchasing sale items only. I had tried on maybe 6 items and none of them were worth taking home. This dress however, immediately fit me in all the right places. It was only $4 and it was a brand that I like - Altar'd State. What I love about this look is that it makes me feel highly feminine. The waist accentuates my figure and the shortish length of the dress reveals the legs.

The shoes are surpringly refreshing, as I can't remember the last time I saw someone wearing this style - they're called oxford heels. They are forgotten about but they still look great with this outfit if you ask me! As for the coat, it was also thrifted. I found it without the belt but it's still such a gem. The cream color is eye catching, the ruffles and puffed sleeves are so classy, and the unexpected print inside makes it a rare item.
